Solar screens for windows

Solar screens are custom-fit screens made from a tighter, heavier mesh than standard window screens. They stop much of the sun before it hits the glass, which helps rooms on the hot side of the house stay cooler and less glary.

  • Less glareEasier to see TVs and screens in sunny rooms.
  • Daytime privacyFrom outside, solar screens make it harder to see in during the day.
  • Protects floors and furnitureLess direct sun means less fading.

Questions

Solar Screens FAQ

Will solar screens make my rooms dark?

They do reduce light. Lighter mesh lets more light in, while denser mesh blocks more sun. We'll bring samples so you can see the difference.

Do I need them on every window?

Usually not. Most homeowners start with the west- and south-facing windows that get the most sun.

Are they allowed by my HOA?

Many HOAs allow solar screens but specify colors. Check your guidelines, or we can help you review them.
